Sycamore Engineering proudly marks 65 years of continuous service in the Wabash Valley. Originally focused on the design and manufacturing of electrical and pneumatic control panels, Sycamore evolved with changing technologies and market demands. Over the last 65 years, the company has expanded into mechanical and electrical construction, concentrating on commercial and industrial projects. This expansion saw the establishment of both Dinkel Associates, Inc., the engineering and design affiliate of Sycamore Engineering, and Dinkel Telekom, the company’s telecommunications division specializing in low-voltage infrastructure, fiber optics, and network solutions.
Continuing the legacy, Sycamore Engineering remains a family-owned and operated business, with Sara Smith (Dinkel) serving as CEO. For the past six and a half decades, Sycamore Engineering has built its reputation on innovation, craftsmanship, and a steadfast commitment to the community. With a rich history of leadership and a focus on future innovation, Sycamore Engineering is poised to meet the evolving needs of clients and communities for generations to come.

Sycamore Engineering has been dedicated to providing quality, professional mechanical, electrical, and plumbing contracting services to our customers since 1960.
Sycamore Engineering was founded in 1960 by the Dinkel family who has owned and operated the company since inception. The company has grown to include complete electrical, mechanical, and service-related activities. Their mechanical and sheet metal fabrication shops provide in house service for mechanical construction projects as well as stand-alone projects. The diversification of the Company has allowed Sycamore to compete in a marketplace with many players without sacrificing “quality”. Sycamore Engineering’s total commitment to “quality” will continue to be the driving force that guides the company to continued growth in future years.
